GOAL: Train the algorithm so your posts reach the right people

The TikTok algorithm is truly amazing. It’ll help you reach your target audience with just a bit of scrolling. When training your algorithm, you essentially want to act as your target user would.

Here’s how:

  1. Open TikTok on your new account and navigate to your fyp
  2. Search up key terms that relate to the niche of your campaign
    1. For the AI Note Taker app, this search might be “school hacks,” “lecture hacks,” “how to get good grades,” “how to take notes,” etc.
  3. Filter videos by “Date Posted” & select “This month”
  4. Like/comment/save/share videos that pop up in this filtered search. Act as if you’re your own target user. What would they comment?
  5. Follow users who are creating content in this niche. Engage with their content. You’ll notice you’ll go down loops of different types of content related to your niche - this is good! Continue interacting.
  6. Repeat 2-3x each day for 2-3 days. Aim to have followed 50-75 people by the end of this process. You’ll know you’ve trained the algorithm properly once the videos on your for you page are related to your niche.

You’ll know your account is properly warmed up when your feed shows you related content to your niche ~80% of the time. It’ll take 3-5 times of leaving and opening the app for this to happen.
